Mission Diverse seeks a dedicated and motivated Community Engagement Officer to lead our flagship Reach Enterprise Programme and other community-related projects. Role and Responsibilities

As our Community Engagement Officer, you will have a multifaceted role that includes:

  • Managing Reach Enterprise Programme: Manage and oversee the flagship Reach Enterprise Programme from inception to implementation, ensuring its success and positive impact on the community.
  • Project Management: Develop, lead, and coordinate various community-related projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Networking Events: Attend networking events to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, community leaders, and partners.
  • Grant Applications: Craft compelling grant applications for new and existing projects to secure funding for our initiatives.
  • Community Engagement: Engage with diverse communities, fostering connections, understanding their needs, and promoting participation in our programs.
  • Innovative Thinking: Bring out-of-the-box thinking to the table, suggesting creative solutions to challenges, and helping us continuously improve our offerings.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must possess the following:

  • Exceptional Project Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects effectively, ensuring they meet their goals and deadlines.
  • Community Engagement Expertise: Comfortable interacting with and engaging diverse communities, understanding their unique needs, and building meaningful relationships.
  • Innovative Mindset: Proven track record of thinking creatively and proposing innovative ideas to drive positive change.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and community members.
  • Create and manage reports: Create reports, present and pitch projects to the team and prospective clients.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with people from various backgrounds.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience in project management or related roles.
  • Passion: A genuine passion for community development and a commitment to making a difference.
  • Expectational use of digital technologies such as Microsoft Office products, Canva, and other social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.

The successful candidate will also have:

  • Creating creative and engaging community projects.
  • Business development, client account management and networking.
  • Manage and submit grant funds.
  • Proficiently use computer technology, which includes Microsoft Office programs and email servers.
  • Data collation and analysis

  • The team work remotely so it is not a requirement that the successful candidate is Midlands-based; however, the successful candidate will be required to travel to Birmingham for face-to-face full-day workdays, in-person team meetings occur twice per week (on a Monday and Wednesday) – days may vary.

1-year fixed-term contract, followed by monthly rolling thereafter

Must be allowed to work in the UK legally.

 

Salary: £21,000.00 – £24,000.00 (depending on experience)
