Welcome to The NeuroParent Network
The NeuroParent Network understand that the challenges of parenting a neurodivergent child begin long before any label is given. That is why we welcome families at any stage of their journey.
Our purpose is to create a safe, respectful and inclusive space where parents and carers can receive neurodiversity support, share experiences, express challenges and explore practical solutions together. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, isolated or simply want to connect with others who understand what you are going through, The NeuroParent Network is here for you.
Frequently Asked Questions...
This support group is open to all types of parenting and caring roles. Whether you are a biological parent, adoptive parent, foster carer, kinship carer, step parent, or a grandparent taking on a primary caring role, you are welcome to join.
We also know that some families are led by older siblings, single parent, or extended family members due to complex life circumstances, and we aim to provide support that is flexible and inclusive to reflect that.
The NeuroParent Network is especially for those who:
- Feel isolated or overwhelmed in their parenting experience
- Are struggling to manage their childrens daily routines, meltdowns or emotional regulation
- Have been told by schools or professionals that their child is displaying “challenging behaviour” without any follow up or support.
- Are waiting for assessments, have been denied referrals, or feel confused by the diagnostic process.
- Are navigating mainstream or specialist education and finding it difficult to advocate for their child’s needs.
- Want to understand more about neurodiversity but do not know where to start.
- Are managing stress, anxiety or guilt in relation to their parenting role.
- Have previously felt excluded from traditional parent groups or services.
- Want to build connections with other parents who genuinely understand what it feels like to support a neurodivergent child.
We especially encourage parents and carers from underrepresented backgrounds to join.
You do not need to have all the answers or present yourself in any particular way. You only need to be someone who is trying their best and wants to feel supported while doing so. This is a space where your experience will be respected, your voice will be valued, and your wellbeing will be prioritised.
That is completely okay. You are welcome to join the sessions and just listen if that feels best for you. There is no pressure to speak, and you can join with your camera off if you prefer. You can also contribute through the chat box if that feels easier. We want everyone to feel safe and included in whatever way works best for them.
No. All sessions, workshops and one to one support offered by The NeuroParent Network are completely free. We believe that access to support should never depend on income. If you need help with travel costs for in person sessions, we may be able to assist with that too.
