Version 1.2
Effective date: 18 August 2026
Mission Diverse CIC is committed to conducting its activities ethically and responsibly and does not tolerate slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, human trafficking or other forms of modern slavery.
This policy sets out our approach to modern slavery risks within our organisation and, where relevant, our business relationships and supply chains.
This policy applies to employees, workers, directors, consultants, contractors, volunteers and other individuals acting on behalf of Mission Diverse.
We also expect suppliers, contractors and business partners to comply with applicable modern slavery, employment and human rights legislation.
This policy does not form part of any contract of employment and may be amended from time to time.
Mission Diverse will take reasonable and proportionate steps to prevent knowingly participating in, facilitating or benefiting from modern slavery.
The level of action taken will depend on the nature of our activities, the relationship concerned, the information available to us and the level of risk reasonably identified.
Where appropriate, we may:
Nothing in this policy requires Mission Diverse to undertake investigations, audits or monitoring beyond what is reasonable or legally required in the circumstances.
Mission Diverse CIC has overall responsibility for this policy.
Anyone working for or on behalf of Mission Diverse should avoid knowingly engaging in conduct connected with modern slavery and should raise genuine concerns where they reasonably believe modern slavery may be occurring in connection with our activities.
Managers and Directors may consider concerns raised and determine what, if any, further action is appropriate.
Anyone who has a genuine and reasonable concern about possible modern slavery connected with Mission Diverse or a relevant supplier or contractor should raise it with a line manager or Director.
Employees may also use the Company’s Whistleblowing Policy where appropriate.
A person raising a concern is not required to prove that modern slavery has occurred.
Mission Diverse will consider information provided to it and determine an appropriate response having regard to the nature and credibility of the concern, any available evidence, the potential risk to individuals and any applicable legal obligations.
Raising an allegation does not automatically require Mission Diverse to accept the allegation as established fact or to undertake a particular form of investigation.
Where a concern appears unrelated to modern slavery, falls more appropriately within another Company process or does not disclose a reasonable basis for suspecting modern slavery, Mission Diverse may deal with the matter under the more appropriate policy or procedure.
Mission Diverse supports individuals who raise genuine concerns in good faith.
No employee should be subjected to detrimental treatment because they have raised a genuine concern which they reasonably believed to be true.
This does not prevent Mission Diverse from addressing allegations that are knowingly false, malicious, vexatious or made primarily for an improper purpose.
Nor does the use of terminology associated with modern slavery automatically mean that conduct falls within the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Concerns will be considered according to their substance and the applicable legal definitions.
We expect suppliers and contractors to comply with the laws applicable to their activities.
Where we become aware of credible information indicating a material modern slavery risk, we may make further enquiries or take other reasonable action.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include seeking clarification, requesting corrective action, obtaining professional advice or reconsidering the relevant business relationship.
Mission Diverse is not responsible for the independent acts or omissions of third parties except to the extent provided by law.
Information about this policy may be provided to employees, contractors or others where Mission Diverse considers this appropriate having regard to their role and the risks associated with their activities.
Mission Diverse does not undertake to provide formal or recurring modern slavery training to every individual unless this is considered necessary or is required by law or contract.
Employees who knowingly breach this policy may be subject to appropriate disciplinary action.
Mission Diverse may also reconsider its relationship with contractors, suppliers or other parties where serious concerns arise.
Any action taken will depend on the circumstances and will be proportionate to the identified risk.
Mission Diverse will comply with any obligations that apply to it under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Where Mission Diverse is legally required to publish a slavery and human trafficking statement under section 54 of the Act, it will do so in accordance with the applicable legal requirements.
Where no statutory reporting requirement applies, Mission Diverse may nevertheless maintain or publish this policy as part of its wider ethical and governance arrangements.
This policy may be reviewed and amended where Mission Diverse considers this necessary to reflect changes in legislation, guidance, organisational activities or identified risk.
